Speaking For Money

I am regularly asked how one goes about getting paid to speak. Some of those who ask are just curious, while others have a desire to make speaking part of their career path. The business of professional speaking is something that I have studied for over a decade, and it is a topic for which I have experience and opinions.

Speaking is a profession. Many people only ever see the "famous" speakers, and assume that is the whole business. While fame does bring speaking opportunities, you do not have to be a former sports figure, politician or reality TV star to share your story with an audience -- and get compensated for your expertise.

On December 3, 2010 I am hosting a seminar and round-table discussion for those who are interested in speaking for money and / or incorporating speeches as a promotional tool for their business.

The program will be held at the SOS Leadership offices in South Austin from 8:30 AM to Noon. The group is limited to ten participants. This will allow everyone the chance to have active participation in the conversation.

The fee for this workshop is $595, but if you mention this blog post (and sign up by November 10, 2010) the cost will be $350.
